Shapes
DESCRIBE HOW THE FOLLOWING SHAPES CAN AFFECT THE STRENGTH OF A STRUCTURE.
Rectangle- The rectangle is a a wobbly, unstable shape. When you push the side its slops into a slanted parallelogram. This happens without any of the rectangles side changing length.
Arch- when the arch has force applied to the top of it the side of the arch pushes outwards.
Triangle- When force is applied to a triangle the outer edges squeeze together, and the inner edge pulls apart. When one side experiences these two forces at the same time, it bends. The weakest part of the triangle is the side.
